The X-Chair is one of our most requested and talked about products. If you work from home, regardless of whether it’s full-time or part-time, then comfort is incredibly important to ensure a productive day. The X-Chair could be just what you need.

Now the question is what exactly is an X-Chair and what makes it so comfortable? We’re breaking down everything you need to know, from cost to cons, so you can determine if it’s a worthwhile investment.

Are X-Chairs Worth the Cost? (1)

X-Chairs are designed with ergonomic features that are meant to support your body with every movement. They offer different models, and each upgrade is based on comfort and customization. Even their X-Basic model is significantly more comfortable than many office chairs on the market, so why is that?

In the company’s words, “The X-Chair's greatest ergonomic feat is one that needs no adjusting. The proprietary Dynamic Variable Lumbar (DVL) Support adjusts itself to the user's shape in order to provide perfect lumbar support from the moment they hit the seat.”

While there are a number of X-Chair models to choose from, we’re going to look at the different options we carry at Circle Furniture:

  • X-Basic Office: Starting at $575, the X-Basic Office Chair is the simplest version. It features the DVL system that provides lower back support as you move along with a foam seat and a breathable Flex Mesh Back.

  • X2 K-Sport Mgmt Office Chair: A step up from the basic is the X2 K-Sport Mgmt Office Chair with a starting price of $1,020. What makes it different is the SciFloat Infinite Recline function, which keeps you in motion all day long.

No matter which version you go for, you’ll reap the benefits of an ergonomically-correct chair with features that help mold and shape the chair to suit your body and your desk setup.

Stephanie Birchenough, our Online Store Manager, said,

“You spend hours sitting at your desk all day, 40 hours a week if not more; it’s worth investing in a chair that’s going to really support you.”

The consensus on the chair in our design centers?

“People have been raving about them and specifically seeking them out.”

Cons

You’ll find that there aren’t many cons when it comes to the construction or comfort of the X-Chair. Of course, everyone is different and we always recommend trying it out in person before you buy. But, for the most part, the attention to detail in its design has left our customers impressed.

If anything, a con of the X-Chair is its cost. At $575 for the basic version, it’s a pricier option than something like the Bungie Chair at $489, so it may not be in everyone’s budget.

The thing is, you get what you pay for when it comes to long-term comfort. If you’ve ever had an uncomfortable office chair – or even tried to work from a dining room chair – you’ll know the impact it has on your ability to work comfortably. For someone with neck or back issues, or if you’re sitting for hours on end, it’s worth the investment.

As far as style goes, the X-Chair is a streamlined, traditional-looking office chair. Another con, depending on your preferences, is that there aren’t many colors to choose from so your options are limited.
