After a disappointing season eighth, USA Network came back with the Suits' ninth and final season. While the expectations were low, the fans were looking forward to the season, thanks to the returning Patrick J. Adams, who made a couple of guest appearances as Michael Ross.

The seventh season saw the introduction of a couple of new characters, primarily, Samantha Wheeler but that wasn't enough to rejuvenate the show. What Suits needed was a new antagonist and with Mike Ross returning, the possibilities were aplenty.

"Scenic Routes" (7.5)

The seventh episode of season 9 is bad because it completely takes the foot off the peddle and takes the viewers in a direction they didn't want to go. Samantha seeks out her biological parents, which is good, but why does she have to take Harvey with her? She doesn't even know him that well. This episode would have made a lot of sense if Robert was the one who went with Samantha, instead of Harvey, who has Faye to worry about.

In the third episode of season 9, Faye Richardson, as acting Managing Partner of the firm, orders everyone around the firm because she has leverage over every single one of them. Harvey can't work the way he likes but he must be patient or else he would lose his license. Louis isn't patient, though, and thinks he should pursue judgeship by leaving the firm he loves more than himself. Meanwhile, Samantha decides to locate her biological parents.

"Whatever It Takes" (7.8)

In the sixth episode of season 9, tensions are running high after Samantha's firing from the firm. Fearing a retaliation, Faye calls for calm as she approaches Donna to tell the partners to not even think about coming back at her.

But the fans know Harvey and he isn't one to sit back. So, along with others, Harvey leads the charge of finding dirt on Faye. Meanwhile, Robert is able to hold back Samantha from doing something rash.

"Special Master" (7.9)

In the second episode of season 9, Faye Richardson is in process of dismantling the firm and restructuring it her way, which no one in Specter Litt Williams Wheeler likes, especially Harvey, who seems to be Faye's primary target. Also, Louis is stripped of the Managing Partner role, which angers him and the fans know how weirdly Louis acts when he is angry. Donna tells Faye something about her past.

"Cairo" (8.0)

In the fourth episode of season 9, if angering everyone wasn't enough, Faye pulls off another stunt which would make her unpopular. She tells Donna that she is losing her voting rights because of her relationship with Harvey, while someone from Alex Williams' past comes back to haunt him. Alex needs Samantha's help for this to go away. Katrina helps Faye to do something she desperately wants.

"Everything's Changed" (8.3)

The first episode of season 9 continues exactly where last season's finale left the viewers. Harvey and Donna are in bed, talking about each other. After teasing and teasing a relationship between the two, it seems, finally the show has committed to the project. But all is not well at the firm, as the New York Bar wants the firm to remove Robert Zane's name from the title and they appoint Faye Richardson to take a look at the firm.

"If The Shoe Fits" (8.6)

In the fifth episode of season 9, Mike Ross returns to the show, only to pick a fight with Harvey. It's no coincidence that as soon as Mike returns, the show takes everything to another level. Everything feels more lively with him around.

Nevertheless, Harvey wasn't in the mood to fight, so he gave the case to Samantha. And despite Faye's presence, Samantha fabricated evidence in order to beat Mike, which meant she got fired from the firm.

"Prisoner's Dilemma" (8.9)

In the eighth episode of season 9, another antagonist from the past, Andrew Malik returns, and to be honest, it has gotten boring to see him go after Harvey time and time again, only to lose every single time. He goes against Sean Cahill, has him arrested for conspiring to get Mike out of jail in return for William Sutter. Hoping Harvey would get the news, Malik plots his next plans. Also, Harvey's mother, Lily dies of a heart attack.

"Thunder Away" (9.3)

In the penultimate episode of season 9, Harvey deals with the sudden death of his mother, and this time, he has Donna by his side, which certainly helps. Meanwhile, there are other big things happening, such as Samantha and Mike teaming up to get Faye out of Specter Litt Williams Wheeler and for Samantha to get reinstated. But Faye is cleverer than anyone thought; she has Harvey and Louis appointed as her attorneys in the fight against Mike and Samantha.

"One Last Con" (9.6)

The season 9 finale isa good end to an average season, at best. Harvey is backed into a corner but as always, he comes up with something or rather, Mike comes up with something which not only saves the firm but also gets rid of Faye for good. At Louis' wedding, Harvey proposes Donna. Later, Sheila gives birth to Louis' child before Harvey comes clean and says he and Donna are leaving for Seattle and working with Mike and Rachel Zane.
