Dahmer is a well-known figure because of how heinous his crimes were. The serial killer lived inMilwaukee, Wisconsin, and murdered 17 men — at least, that’s how many he was convicted for — between the years 1978 and 1991. He’s most notorious for partaking in necrophilia and cannibalism with his victims. It’s truly a gruesome story.
Here’s the official synopsis provided by Netflix:
"“Between 1978 and 1991, Jeffrey Dahmer gruesomely took the lives of seventeen innocent victims. DAHMER – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story is a series that exposes these unconscionable crimes, centered around the underserved victims and their communities impacted by the systemic racism and institutional failures of the police that allowed one of America’s most notorious serial killers to continue his murderous spree in plain sight for over a decade.”"
Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story trailer
Netflix also just released the first trailer for Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, and I’ve got to say, it looks great. Based on the cast, we know the acting will be good, and the trailer proves that it’s also made really well. The tone is extremely dark, as it should be, and it looks very compelling. Check it out below.
The second trailer came out on Sept. 20, giving us a better glimpse into the victims’ stories. I’m really glad this show will be focusing on the victims and how the police handled the accusations against Dahmer, instead of glorifying the serial killer. Watch it here:
We’ve got a bunch of stills from the show to share with you ahead of the release. Check them out here:
Netflix's series Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story tells the terrifying (mostly) true story of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. Created by six-time Emmy Award-winner Ryan Murphy, Monster follows Dahmer's numerous murders through the lens of his victims.
Synopsis. The series is about the life of Jeffrey Dahmer, and how he became one of the most notorious serial killers in America. His murders were executed in Bath Township, Ohio, West Allis, Wisconsin, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin between 1978 and 1991.
Monster Season 2 explores the Menendez brothers' murder case. With a late 2024 release, the Netflix series delves into their trial, marked by conflicting accounts, privilege and a high-profile cast. Netflix's Monster Season 2 is in the works, shifting focus from Jeffrey Dahmer to the infamous Menendez brothers.
Aileen Wuornos (born February 29, 1956, Rochester, Michigan, U.S.—died October 9, 2002, Starke, Florida) was an American serial killer who murdered at least seven people in 1989–90.
Nesbitt died to drown in his blood after getting shot. According to James's testimony, Steve was the one who pulled the trigger that murdered the innocent Mr.Nesbitt.
Jack the Ripper. We call him “Jack the Ripper,” but we don't really know who the person behind one of the older and most notorious murder sprees was. ...
Dahmer cuts the head of a victim in his grandma's house, and is seen kissing it. Limbs are seen in acid tubs with flesh burned off. A scene of Dahmer cooking and eating his victim. Has scenes of intense violence, gore, blood, and torture.
Even the most diehard true crime fan would say DAHMER - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story is so dark and disturbing that it's difficult to watch. It's also a brilliant masterpiece from co-creators, writers and executive producers Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan.
Patty Jenkins stayed true to the real-life story of Aileen Wuornos in the film Monster, despite facing criticisms for sympathetically portraying the serial killer. The portrayal of Aileen's childhood in the film is largely accurate, but the real story is even more tragic and heartbreaking.
Overall, this series is heartbreaking, showing the true reality of what really happened to Dahmer's victims, and therefore I would strongly advise for older teens and adults to watch this. Therefore, I would give a final rating of 16+.
Playing the infamous brothers who were convicted in 1996 of murdering their parents are newcomers Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Cooper Koch, who will star as Lyle and Erik Menéndez, respectively.
The 2024 Indonesian movie on Netflix called Monster revolves around two schoolchildren named Alana and Rabin who get abducted by a man named Jack. Jack feels like the real monster in the story, as it becomes clear he has done this before. But he is not alone; his wife, Murni, is also involved in these abductions.
The two trials of Lyle and Erik Menendez will assuredly be a focal point of Monster season 2, as they were widely publicized. On August 20th, 1989, wealthy corporate executive José Menendez and his wife Kitty were murdered by their sons Erik and Lyle in the den of their Beverly Hills home.
Johan Liebert is the titular main antagonist in the manga and anime series Monster and the overarching antagonist of its light novel sequel Another Monster. He is a ruthless and psychopathic serial killer whose life was saved by Kenzo Tenma as a child.
Steve Harmon was accused of taking part in the robbery that resulted in his murder. Steve's name was linked with James King and Bobo Evans—two neighborhood thugs. The two had implicated Steve as their look-out for the day they had planned to rob Mr. Nesbitt.
The jury's decision of not guilty frees Steve from prison but not from his feelings of alienation and guilt. The story leaves unresolved whether Steve Harmon is a good or bad person and whether he is innocent of the crime. After the trial, Steve himself tries to resolve these questions by continuing to make movies.
Aileen Wuornos is the main antagonist of the 2003 film Monster. She is based on the real life serial killer with the same name and backstory. She is portrayed by Charlize Theron.
